I live in Utah. I remember when that happened.-———————————————————————————————-Red touches yellow, kills a fellow. Red touches black, venom lack.

The ‘acid test’ will determine whether it’s a coral snake or not!

You said, “Take care not to mistake a coral snake for a scarlett king. They’re not aggressive snakes.” I live in Florida, where we have both. That’s why it’s so important to me to remember the difference. I have encountered both.

A constrictor may bite. My son’s boa bit his girlfriend.

I heard from several posters on another forum that the snake most feared by folks down south is the Water Moccasin.

Plain brown in color, so it’s not easily recognized,it doesn’t have rattles, so it doesn’t give any warning that way, and worst of all, it’s one VERY aggressive reptile.

I heard this one regarding the Texas coral snake; ‘Red touches yellow, you’re an unlucky fellow. Yellow touches black, you’re in luck, Jack!’

Around these parts we have a saying. It doesn’t rhyme but it does the job. “If it’s a snake, kill it!”.

It was meant to be a joke, but I guess I needed to explain it!
