we should replace all of our highways with electronic conveyor belts.
Like the belts in the supermarket checkout line is ginormous.
solving the energy crisis and reducing accidents!
ok, now....can you do my math homework for me?
Don’t forget to run those belts on solar power, Jojo. See “The Roads Must Roll” by Robert Heinlein for details. And do that math. You’ll need it for a project like that.
In “The Jetsons” tv show they had conveyor styled walkways. The bad part of this idea is that you can’t have them everywhere and they would need to be maintained constantly, not to mention the power requirements. At least he’s using his imagination. If this was his “energy plan”, he’ll make a great politician when he grows up, which to me is a scarey thought. lol
All time favorite is Starship Troopers! I was driving down the road and thinking about “Coventry”, wouldn’t that be a good movie reflecting our current direction?
I love that there are so many Heinlein fans around. When an author stops publishing, as Heinlein had to, mostly because he died, his readership often wanes. I’m pleased to see Heinlein’s work endures.

Yep, loved that short story.
Actually, Moon is a Harsh Mistress is my favorite book of all time.
