I’ve always heard that if you have a song stuck to think/hum the 1812 Overture or Dueling Banjos, it works. For some reason those two songs you can forget about after a few minutes.
Whenever there’s a song stuck in my head, I find myself replacing it with the I Dream Of Jeannie theme song. Works every time.

They play that in California too – and just like you – I switch the channel as soon as I hear the opening few notes.
