Okay, here’s my opinion. Mr. Stein has lost site of his objective. Liz is caught in the middle, being squeezed between kids on one side and aging parents on the other. Instead of turning Liz into a typical comic strip wife/shrew, Mr. Stein should give her enough insight to know her husband has become the focus of all her frustrations. And instead of turning Sam into another stereotypical wimp, Mr. Stein should use humor to show Sam’s understanding that her anger isn’t caused by him although it is directed at him.
Yoo hoo. Ed. It’s not funny. It was kind of funny when the reader imagined it was a set-up for a cute reconciliation. But this is just pathetic dysfunction.
Maybe he should grab her by the scruff of the neck and throw her rear end out in the front yard folllowed by everything she owns. Oh, wait, that won’t work. We live in a matriarchal society. The police would just come and cart him off for domestic violence and she would get everything he owns and half his paycheck in the divorce. Might be worth it just to get away from her.

Is this getting as old as the political war of words in the other strips?
