    Even as an adult, I find the green thing quite scary. I don’t think these characters are known in the UK.

    Gumby and Pokie are early “clay-mations.” When I watched them as a kid, I was uneasy with them since I knew they weren’t cartoon characters, but they weren’t actors in costumes either. I couldn’t figure out what they were until many years later, when more stop-action animated clay figures began to appear on the scene.

    I don’t remember Gumby, but I do remember Davey and Goliath. Mostly how Goliath said “Hey Davey”.
