There was a story in school years ago, about a merchant that used donkeys to haul his merchandise. Part way through the route, he had to cross a creek. And the donkey hauling the salt soon learned that if he laid down in the stream, his load got lighter. This meant lost profit for the trader! (And the fish downstream didn’t appreciate it either!) So, on the next trip, he loaded this donkey with sponges!
