The last vehicle I had that was approaching DMV “antique” status gave up the ghost at age 21 — which coincidentally is when it started being given gas with ethanol in it.
100 years makes it an antique, 50 years makes it vintage, 20 years makes it retro. (In the field of “antiques and collectables”, no matter what they are..) A real “classic” car designation is decided by the Classic Car Club of America. People can petition for a vehicle to be classified as a “classic”. It must be between 20 and 40 years old.

It’s not old, it’s a classic.

At what point does it go from old to classic – or antique?!

You’re a plugger if you get your car fixed at the one garage that still allows customers to mill around the work area.
