If you consider that April 25 is the latest Easter can occur, it’s not too far off.

For Roman Catholics, Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon (as defined by the Church, the Paschal full moon) after the Northward Equinox (the first day of Spring as defined by the Church).

The First day of spring is defined as March 21.If March 21 is a Saturday and the Paschal Full Moon falls on March 21, Easter is on Sunday, March 22, the earliest possible date..

If the Ecclesiastical Full Moon prior to the Paschal Full Moon falls on March 20, the Paschal full Moon would fall on April 18.If that April 18 is a Sunday, than the following Sunday, April 25, would be Easter, falling on the latest possible date.

For how other Christian groups determine the date of Easter, see the Wikipedia article on “computus”
