When I was about 10 I stood in front of my parents’ door and with some kind of weapon (I don’t remember, something to similate a lance) challenged anuyone to enter the castle. Along came my mother, who gave me hell.
Kids who torment animals…. That’s the one thing that should be VERY harshly punished (not spanked, but lots of lost privileges, grounding, time out, etc.). And playmates who encourage it should be banned.
When we were five, I was watching Cousin Willis test the swimming prowess of a kitten in a bucket of well water. His mom found us and put things right. When I was ten, my mom found my BFF and me tormenting some caterpillars. I look back on wonder at what my childish self did. (However, Janice does seem a bit extreme. Also, somehow I doubt that her parents could afford braces, or would care enough to.)

Janice is the dragon here, harassing a sweet dog. Good for Elly for putting an end to it. The kids should pretend that something else is a dragon.
