She’s hardly a woman. She’s more of a tomboy with little compassion. Susan has it right… he’s just trying to blame someone else and maybe avoid getting in trouble.

Elly is right in teaching Michael not to torment that poor dog. She needs to keep her boy away from that girl.

“You’ve got trouble with a capital “T” and that rhymes with “G” and that stands for “GIRLS!”"

I just knew that girl was a bad influence on those boys even before they started teasing and chasing poor Farley around with their “swords”!

sleepy2: This is In response to your response to my comment yesterday —

Janice wasn’t just yelling “KOWABUNGA!” at Farley . . . she was chasing him around with a “sword” and scaring the crap out of him, maybe even actually poking him with it (hence his “YIIPE!” in the first panel)!!! Hard telling what could have possibly happened if Elly hadn’t stopped the “playing” when she did. Would Janice have next “slayed the dragon” by doing worse than just a simple poke and actually stabbed him with it instead (and drawing blood)??? I shudder to think about it!!!!!

Yes, I realize this is “just a comic” but for some dogs, abuse at the hands of their guardians (and other people) is a very real thing. People need to understand that animals aren’t just inanimate objects (like rocks, furniture, cars, etc.) that they can abuse, neglect, and/or abandon and there’s no harm done. Animals are living, breathing, feeling creatures that suffer real pain just like humans do when someone more powerful than they are hurts them! I’m a huge animal lover and the horror stories I hear just make me feel so sad.
