This might the the week that TJ seduces Ann.

I see Charlie Brown got hair implants and grew a stash, as well as losing some weight…Good Grief!

TJ is hilarious. I enjoy his interactions with Ann.

Looking hot, Ann. T.J. must stand for “total jerk”.

Hahaha… love the Charlie Brown comment from Orion-13
wiselad over 12 years ago
if we did not know the “back story” of Ann,……….. a new reader would think that Ann is caressing hot buns
rusty gate over 12 years ago
P. 3, T.J. Is not smiling and Ann IS complimenting. Could T.J. be getting a conscience? If T.J. connects ‘devious’ and Ann, this job may be history.
ComicLaff over 12 years ago
Gee, couldn’t help noticing Ann’s prominent breasts. hand-to-face it’s a cartoon dude, a cartoon!
SideshowStarlet over 12 years ago
When will Charlie Brown ever learn? He’s not gonna be able to kick that football, and no fast food restaurant is gonna have a “win a car” thing without advertising it everywhere.
…
Fun fact: Charles Schultz said that Charlie Brown was never bald. It was just that his hair was so light that it blended in with his skin. Schultz had added that curl on his forehead to show that Charlie Brown did indeed have hair. I guess old Charlie dyed his hair black because he got sick of the misconception.

Not a fan of the devious upsell. I am hoping either he has paid these customers off, or he has something up his sleeve other than just high sales. After all, high sales certainly isn’t getting her back for anything she did to Brad.
Sisyphos over 12 years ago
I think TJ in panel 3 is properly skeptical of Little Annie Awful’s devious phony compliment….
Ottodesu over 12 years ago
TJ doesn’t need any good wishes from her. He already knows he’s good and performing well in spite of her.The irony here is that she is quite correct as well as actually having given a genuine compliment
Ottodesu over 12 years ago
Can we send a note back up the communications path to Greg that we object to Ann covering her legs? She’s ordinaryfying her image.
ZacBSM over 12 years ago
Now that he’s baited ‘n’ hooked Ann, he’s not all that keen about her anymore if I read his face correctly.
auramac over 12 years ago
Right now they’re both on the Dark Side.
DaJellyBelly over 12 years ago
That customer must have the brain of a gnat to get snookered by TJ’s phony spiel. Like a previous poster stated. There would be signs plastered all over the place and radio and TV ads for a millionth customer contest. Also, TJ wouldn’t be whispering it to a customer in sotto voice!
DaJellyBelly over 12 years ago
Another thing, if I was the customer. I’d open my wallet and say, "Darn I don’t have $7.85, I guess I’’l have to stick with the $2.00 Basicweenie.

WHEN are TJ and Ann going to get married and rule the world? It’s so gotta happen!

That’s just dishonest.

Elvis is still hiding, but we found Jim Croce.

Uh huh. Hey Annie, babe.BEFORE You praise this jackass’ “up selling”, get him to tell you about the time he defrauded the local fire department!Aaaaaaand How in the END, the ONLY folk who PAID for it were his ACCOMPLICES! (Tiffany. Poor gal ain’t been RIGHT since!)
See. See, I TOLD Y’all there was a CROOK behind the Register……..,

Ann looks extra “perky” this week.

@WiseLad:I bet its not her buns that burn
I like the Charles Shultz Tribute.

I still think TJ and Ann could be the couple that would really heat up this strip. But then, every time that opportunity has presented itself with any other couple, there was a fizzle instead of a bang.
DayoftheDead over 12 years ago
I just noticed something. Yes Im slow on the uptake. If Ann is the store manager why is she not wearing a Management uniform? Most if not all fast food restaurants have a Dress type shirt for Managers with the Company Logo on it. Ann doesn’t even have a badge that identifies her as an employee. And yes I think Ann has a greater appreciation of T.J. who we all now know is not trustworthy and devious.

Employee of the month.

TJ is going to rack up sales for awhile & then quit, leaving her to explain why sales are no longer going well.
dfowensby over 12 years ago
maybe tj can “do” the entire family here, and play toni, ann, and luann too. nah. although it would be a head knocker if brad discovered his feminine side, and started snuggling with tj. just dreamin’. no such luck on an interesting thread this month.
Airman over 12 years ago
That is not Jim Croce…it’s my cousin, Claude. RIP. And to paraphrase Dolly Parton, “if he’s not looking at my chest, he’s not looking for girls”.

I wonder how much longer before T.J. gets bored with Ann…

I’m betting TJ is gay. My best friend in college is gay and TJ has his personality. I like him, but not with Anne.

Looks like it might be an interesting week.

@ComicLaffRe Ann: We went from very short skirt to very tight shirt.I think TJ has to be attracted – however if it happens it won’t work. Only Dirk could handle her in a relationship.

I asked this question over at Peanuts, but there is so little traffic there that I don’t expect to get an answer. So I will ask it here. Why is Charlie Brown’s strip called “Peanuts”?
mojitobaby over 12 years ago
My guess is that there’s something coming that he’ll need to be a part of, bevcause he’s already won every other point against her. What immediately springs to mind is that Ann decides to get revenge on Toni and will expect TJ to take her side and be a witness to Shannon biting her. On the other hand, Greg really doesn’t do legal, so it’ll probably just be a threat, nothing concrete. .At some point TJ will administer the coup de grace by quitting. Once he does, Ann won’t be able to keep the sales quota up, so it’ll be obvious to corporate she wasn’t the one directly responsible for those wonderful totals. They fire her, and make TJ the manager.

Good grief…

Speaking of Peanuts, Charie Brown, et al: I once saw a spoof comic of CB running to kick the football – in the next panel you see Lucy sailing over the goalpost.
les nessman over 12 years ago
I think TJ just got a mental image of looking into a mirror and seeing Ann’s reflection.
tubgrape over 12 years ago
I think T.J. is (consciously or unconsciously) seducing Toni.
tubgrape over 12 years ago
Could be that Greg is afraid to marry Brad off. (Kind of like Dagwood’s daughter getting married. What would happen to the comic strip?)
reedkomicks Premium Member over 12 years ago
Probably TJ doesn’t like to be predictable and will quit. Ann is too approving of him, which makes her feel in control, which she is not.
A.Ficionada over 12 years ago
TJ may be setting her up to get her fired. He’s probably wearing a wire!

Oops, faulty memory here— after consulting Wikipedia a minute ago, it said that it was carried for a while in the St. Paul Pioneer Press as “Li’l Folks.” Indeed, it was United Features that came up with the “Peanuts” name! Many years ago, I saw a beer mug with obviously unauthorized artwork which depicted Charlie Brown looking at a pregnant Lucy, who had a word balloon saying; “Good Grief, Charlie Brown!”

The fun’s gone out of the game now that Ann approves. That’s not in TJ’s planbook. That look is somewhat sardonic, like OK, now I’ve got to go to Plan “B” because she’s liking it.

You know, I’ve never actually met a black person who was a sneaky, conniving, manipulative con artist like T.J. That doesn’t seem to be a very common thing with them. Most black people I’ve met have really been more like Delta: cheerful, outgoing, sociable, active, overconfident, loud, somewhat aggressive and with lower impulse control than people of other races. The lying, cheating, sneaky, manipulative conniving really seems to be more of a white people’s thing, probably owing to the fact that white people tend to have higher intelligence and lower bravado than black people do. That’s why so many of those emails which say “I am King Indadangi of Mbadonga and I would like to transfer a sum of $11,000,000.00 USD to your account, but first I need your log-in credentials.” come from Eastern Europe. It’s usually the Caucasian criminals, including those from India, who are sneaky cheaters and scammers. Black criminals are usually much more upfront about it. They’re far more likely to sucker-punch you in the face and then run away with their arms full of stolen goods, then to bother coming up with a clever scam.

correction: THAN to bother coming up with a clever scam.
