You know, I try to stay out of debates about politics and religion and personal choices. But there are times when I just can’t keep my mouth shut… so here’s my opinion – Jan Brewer needs to get her head examined. Her elevator doesn’t stop on all floors.
way to go politicians who failed biology class. every time these small c conservatives who say they do not want to be involved in our lives, they do something that like this. what is next? they going to track every woman’s egg count? track every man’s sperm count? have a sex police and ask couples personal intimate questions of their sex lives? i guess it goes with being from arizona, the one of the last states that didn’t recognize MLK day.
Under the law, the first day of life is defined as the last day of the mother’s last period — which, yes, can be up to two weeks before the actual conception. So everyone gets to add nine and a half months to their age!
So somebody explain this to me. Is the tiny fetal proto-soul in the sperm, the egg, or divided between? 50-50 would seem reasonable, but that huge bloated egg is so much bigger than the poor little spermy fellow that it seems unfair to expect him to carry such a burden. Maybe it’s more like 99 to 1. Biology is hard.
I live in Arizona and it’s a beautiful state, however the politicians are the vilest, dumbest, most reactionary and most loathsome bunch of troglodytes that ever existed. However people do elect them, and the voters are to blame. I would nuke this state in a heartbeat if it wouldn’t kill innocent animals.
I don’t know—Oklahoma’s personhood bill—that embryos have all the legal rights of a person at conception (did it actually pass?), certainly puts it in the running.
so, arizona’s law enforcement doing their duties of stopping/preventing crime ie robberies, homicides, drunk driving stops, patrolling etc…, they have to question everyone about their immigration status, check every women’s menstrual cycle, investigate couples’ intimate lives, make sure that every teenage boy isn’t jacking it, and make sure that everyone of hispanic descent cannot learn their history in school, even though US won and bought land that became AZ from mexico. And, the gop says that dems waste money.

I’d put this right up there with “Birth control pills may be linked to prostate cancer.”

I’m suprized that the people of Arizona are OK with that! Almost anywhere else people would have petitions to oust that governor and her henchmen.
