Yeah, but that’s never been Alex’s M.O. She bends objects and situations that cross her path to her will. If she accepts the position, and values Betty, I bet she will find a way of bending things around.
A best friend is someone you can call BS on. In some working relationships, it’s OK to call BS on the boss, but If you were friends first, the BS call is taken twice as hard. Conversely bossing your friend really sucks, because direction and correction also carry double the insult. IF Alex takes the job, Betty should transfer to a different department or find another place of employment.
