It’s a bit “short attention span” and they left too much of the story out (I know, time constraints of making a movie) but it is a decent movie. I would say yes, go see it.
I would agree it’s worth seeing – I saw it with my teenage sons. I was actually surprised at how closely it followed the book. And hey, it has teenage boys reading.
Well, it’s not about “children killing children” any more than 1984 was about “a guy who’s on television” or Fahrenheit 451 is “about a guy whose wife hates to read.”
Conservatives hold that it is about the evils of big government, and Liberals claim it as another occupy wall street take off. Literary critics cite that it is a remake of Theseus and the Minotaur. Others claim it is a protest to our sports and reality shows, comparing it to the Roman Games where people fought to the death and people were encouraged to watch the suffering and bloodshed. No doubt about it, there is a lot of ideology to talk about wrapped up in this story!
Haven’t seen the movie hear it was good and stayed closer to the book than most movies. The books were great the last one fell a little flat (just my opinion). Can’t wait to see “Dark Shadows” it looks awesome.
I am uncomfortable with the concept of children killing children, but most movies and tv shows today show people killing people; and I did go see Harry Potter.

I’ve been hearing about “Hunger Games” now and then quite a lot. Is it really worth watching? I am over 13, by the way.

I’ve seen too many children killing children in real life. No thanks. I’ll wait and go see Depp in Dark Shadows.

I’ve always described “Alien” as the story of a girl and her cat.
