so what you are saying is … Mexico isn’t in America … right?maybe its in some kind of limbo and just shows up like its in America… or maybe you mean that it isn’t made in the USA? okay… should they change their name to USA Standard Faucet then?
Not during WWII, AFTER WWII. In the 1950’s a lot of toys made in Japan and sold in the US were found to be made of recycled beer cans when the paint on them peeled off and “Budweiser” could be seen. “Made in Japan” became a notification that you were buying cr*p. Yes, a lot of products were shipped to the United State labeled “Made in USA” (which BTW is a CITY in Japan) until people here got wise and our government cracked down. It took Japan decades to lose the bad products reputation.
We people in the U.S. of A. tend to think USA = America, but our neighbors in the north and immediately south of us understand that North America includes Canada and Mexico. Hence, the misunderstanding. Especially, when you talk about the “Americas,” which include both continents.

The U.S.A. doesn’t have a monopoly on the name America! Mexico is in North America, and Guatemala is in Central America.

President Obama is suppose to mend this problem by helping Americans to be employed-and to see MADE IN THE U.S.A. on products.
