I remember playing baseball in the snow in grade school in Kansas. In a storm. But of course, bicycle helmets and fat kids were a long way in the effeminate future.
surfstuff: reminds me of a CFL game; with seconds to go, a field goal attempt from mid-field (55 yard line in Canada). The kick was high, with a strong tailwind and a driving rain. It had lost all forward momentum from the kick, but the wind carried it through the uprights to win the game.
Hey, not so funny. Some little kid at Fenway got carried out when one of the Sox let go of his bat during a game against the Orioles over the weekend and it flew into the stands. That’s why they warn you about flying objects at ballparks.

No, I never let a bat fly out of my hands on a bad swing.
No, never! What, never?
Well, HARDLY ever…

I was trying to hit a paper wad with a miniature bat in the English classroom after exams, and accidentally let it loose like that…
