You’d think that the politeness of the rabbit she’s mistaken for M. Smokey would create the sort of discordant thought that would jar her awake. Oh well, on to the gallery and whatever surprise awaits.

Okay, yeah, we forgot Mona had a job; truth is, I don’t recall ever seeing her at work since I began reading C’est la Vie. If she spends her time strolling through fields with a formal fantasy bunny and doesn’t wake up soon, she may no longer have a job!

Hmmmmm…. She first met Lucas at an art show she was covering for her job. Perhaps she’s going to get an echo of her past.

It seems to me this rabbit is a manifestation of Mona’s love for Lucas, who once dressed up in animal costume.

JB seems to delight in confounding the expectations of her regular readers. This is a good thing because art should challenge people. “Mind the gap” is simple to understand, proceed with caution. As for what happens with Lucas, she’s gotten together with him before in her dreams, she always wakes up right afterward. I don’t think that’s whats going to happen this time. When she gets to the gallery it could be an echo of the past, just not one that anyone is expecting.
