It’s Charlie Brown with hair! His baseball team is probably winning too.

Gloom, despair and agony on me.Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.Gloom, despair and agony on me.

The first appearance of Roy in the Peanuts comic strip.

It would be a little over a year later Roy’s friend Peppermint Patty would make her first appearance in the Peanuts comic strip (Hope Universal Uclick reruns Peanuts 1966 strips next year in 2013!)

I was just about to post the same thing about Roy! He ended up being the more minor of the Peanuts characters and go almost completely overshadowed by Pepperming Patty, which is understandable. Peppermint Patty became one of the most legendary characters in the comic strip.

Ol’ Roy. I was thinking the other day that Charlie Brown met him at a summer camp. Forgot that Peppermint Patty was Roy’s friend first, though. Roy is sort of like Franklin, Pigpen or 5…not really a core Peanuts character, but a recurring one.

It’s interesting how Schulz introduced many characters at summer camp: Roy, Peppermint Patty, Franklin, Marcie, Eudora..

Glad you enjoyed the song. I find it very catchy and I dance to it all the time.
