Snoopy is the best shortstop in the league!

Let’s see… Charlie Brown is the pitcher; Schroeder is the catcher; I’ve seen Shermy at first base; Linus at second; Snoopy at short. Lucy, Original Patty, Violet and Frieda must rotate through the outfield. That leaves Pigpen (or sometimes “5”) for third base. I don’t think Sally Brown was ever on the team.

Poor Charlie Brown. By the way, does anyone know what year these strips are from?

I love Charlie Brown. At least he’s sporty and not lazy.

Unfortunately, the girls on Charlie Brown’s team don’t have the talent that the female players in “A League of Their Own” displayed. Or, if they do have it, they refuse to show it.

Yes, these are from 1965. I remember them. Peppermint Patty was introduced a year later, introduced to Charlie Brown by none other than Roy.

Charlie Brown was manager of a baseball team that was so fun and zany.

The girls Charlie Brown has got he can definitely sell short. The only problem is that to get a short sale price on them is just about impossible. As ball players they’re worth nothing and everyone knows it. To sell Lucy short would involve Charlie Brown paying someone to take her. (To understand what I’m talking about look up short sale as a Stock Market term.

I defy Stretch to manage Chuck’s team.
