But Gary, Fred and the rest of the gang belong to the Ballard Street Fine and Fancy Pen & Fedora Fellowship.Therein lies the provocation.

    F. Stanley notes with disdain that Gary ‘special’ pencil does not bear the PMA Certification Seal.

And, seriously, isn’t every little thing special in it’s own little way? …..sniff…

If Gary chose a pencil so ordinary that Fred Sydney Stanley doesn’t fall for the bait, he’ll get a bad mark in his very first field assignment from the Ballard Street Ecole des Agents Provocateurs.Next time, Gary, do a little more research into what exactly will tempt your chosen target.F.S.S. there looks like he would have fallen for a fine cheroot.

Meanwhile, back in high school I used to buy Dixon Ticonderoga #1 pencils by the dozen, even though if caught with anything so dangerously soft we risked having them confiscated.I always wished our school pencils could be at least 2H and preferably 6H.Any teachers here, please don’t hate me.I’m really pretty nice, otherwise.

it’s special because that’s the one he uses to clear out his earwax with the eraser. then he forgot he did that and then went to erase a penciled error and smeared brown earwax all over his paper.then he had get another pencil with a wax-free eraser to erase the penciled error AND the earwax smear
