I ran across an old interview with Picasso a couple of years back. It seems that he was playing with the art critics. He kept on making his art more and more outrageous on purpose to mess with them. The more outrageous the painting was, the more the critics loved it. He was LAUGHING at them and their pretentiousness.

Why is a Picasso more valuable than a Norman Rockwell or a Diego Rivera?

Idiot: “My kid could do better than that.”Picasso: “It took me a long time to get young.”
