But why doesn’t Rover tell Red so? This joke would work better in a comic where animals can’t communicate with their masters.

First you find the stuffing and then you find a chewed up piece of plastic. Glad they don’t have metal squeaks anymore.

Rover did ot want to disappoint Red. So he remained quiet, as when you receive the type of gift that does not quite bring you complete joy with out modification.
