I applied a few weeks ago at a movie theatre, got an interview the next day and I’m STILL waiting to hear back from them for a secondary interview. Even if I didn’t get the job, they should’ve called me (or my job coach).

Warning: the more important the title the crummier the job.

that’s odd…at the movie theater I used to work at, the “Floor Manager” was the person in charge for the entire place unless the GM was working.

When they say they will “be in touch” or “will call you back,” you didn’t get the job. You will never hear from them again. Unless you contact them yourself — send a note saying how thrilled you were to interview with them, how excited you are by the prospects of working there, etc. Do it quickly enough and you might get a second interview.

It used to be that every serious applicant would get a polite letter of rejection if they weren’t chosen. Then it was just people who had actually been interviewed. Now they just don’t care. When I was job hunting about 8 years ago I was very surprised when I actually got a nice rejection letter from a local company. I will actually refer people to them now, because it shows they have a very high standard of professionalism.

I work at a movie theater and I’m pleased to say that none of the mangers act like Peter’s boss…yet.

Of course, I work at the theater year around and not just during the summer.

I really hate when they tell you that you start tomorrow at 09:00, and when you show up fifteen minutes early, no one knows who you are, and HR asks so innocently; “They didn’t call you?”.

Don’t stick your gum under the seat – it’s hard to get off and ruins the flavor.

No. The dictionary shows the syllabication of “pavilion” to be pa·vil·ion. If I remember my high-school English, a syllable always ends with a consonant or a long vowel, but never with a short vowel.
