Peter: You got a cafeteria lunch? Paige: Yeah, so? Peter: Paige, you are such the clueless freshman. Trust me, there's nothing more inedible than the food this school serves. Paige: Except maybe the peanut butter and tofu sandwiches Mom packed us today. Peter: I thought those were marshmallows. Ok, but you're still a freshman. Paige: Freshcheck.

When my husband was going to school way back when, his dad would make him an oatmeal sandwich for school. I once made him a peanut butter and banana sandwich that he thought was weird, but a co-worker offered to switch sandwiches, because that was his favorite! Go figure.

Tofu is not healthy.

I enjoyed school lunches when I was in high school, after I convinced my parents that I didn’t want to bring my lunches anymore.

I think if she were the coolest most ‘together’ freshman in the school, he would still point that out. And in the real world, I’d bet she really be sitting elsewhere.

Tofu is delicious, and healthy, and certainly not a filler. You just have to acquire a taste for it, and serve it right.

I accidently dished up tofu, no I did not noticed the sign stating toful. Never again.

I don’t see why all the cartoonists give tofu a bad rap. It’s good stuff when used how it’s supposed to be: part of other dishes. (Alone, it’s not very good unless heavily seasoned.)

I once tried some tofu pudding that tasted just like the Junket that I used to love as a kid, but can’t find anymore. And none of the stores in this town carry tofu pudding.

Tofu is soy bean air unless you add other things to it. So there goes the health benefit of soy beans – drowned in the unhealthy crap you add to it to make it edible.

Paula Deen ate tofu and liked it..’Nuff said.

I’m more concerned about her use of “fresh-chick.” Andy probably wouldn’t approve such language.

As a rule, if I can’t identify something, I won’t eat it. Thankfully, the school food at my high school is recognizable, and they did have salad bars and fruit bars as alternatives.

I have a coworker who underwent breast cancer treatment (successfully, thank heavens) but her cancer was fed by estrogen. Apparently, soy products either contain or mimic estrogen (sorry, little fuzzy on details) so for some people, like my coworker, tofu is unhealthy.

Tofu is like liver. A good source of protein and other nutrients, and edible if smothered in fried bacon and onions.

Tofu is a faux estrogen, and just like ANYTHING too much is harmful.
