Ralph: It used to be, when a kid was "all thumbs" in the outfield, it meant something way different!
I don’t know. When I was a kid playing ball at recess or lunch hour, the outfield was the area where you could take a nap. The infield positions were always taken by the boys who figured they were the better players. I remember once I got so bored with it that I just wandered off and found some other kids to play with. Never did go back to playing ball.
