Actually, in my opinion, I think that the materials matter, but not as much as practicing the artwork itself. I am an aspiring cartoonist, and I have learned this from experience.

Which reminds, anyone ever see Nate implement shading in any of his cartoons?? He should take a TV course that complements one of those “home studios” in-a-box, like those Jon Gnagy kits I used when I was a kid….those were pretty good for the 1950’s. And you DID learn a thing or four about drawing and its attendant materials…..
