Okay, very confused here. How does a catcher dump a batter? By tripping her? By throwing the ball back to the pitcher very closely to the batter’s head? This is a new one to me!
I agree with jalthomas and lureman. A catcher doesn’t “dump” a batter and I want you Thorpaholics to share your nicknames for Little Dinkums, Mongo, err Jaxon. P2: Am I crazy or is No. 8 a guy in a girls uni? P3: The Goshen school district needs to repair that backstop before a foul ball hurts someone.
Okay, that was ridiculous. How could the catcher knock the batter over backwards unless she tripped her from behind her feet and pushed her from the front. Which would result in a blatant ejection from the ump. Unless the ump is playing with Jaxon and didn’t see it at all.
Sometimes I think production of this comic was outsourced to China or India. Can’t imagine American writers and artists coming up with this stuff. Could be Canadian I guess.
The pitch was intentionally thrown high and tight, the catcher jumped to grab it and in the process hit and knocked over, or ‘dumped’ the batter. The catcher’s part in this may or may not have been on purpose, but the pitcher knew where she was throwing. I think the “Waah” is going to take over the comic, at any rate. The toddler may have fallen and broke an arm or something. The game will take second place in the storyline.

Excellent storyline. Sorry fellow Gil fans, but we might not get to Gil’s Summer golf gig the way softball is heating up here.

I don’t know HOW she dumped her but I like it. I think Dinny is going to be looking at Amanda in a whole new light now.

Amanda tied the hitter’s shoelaces together. Also, the umpire is a retired pro wrestling referee.
