Well, this is the reality. China has become such a business partner that human rights are now officially taking a back seat.
Before people start yelling at Obama, they need to recall that here in the US, it has ALWAYS been this way.
Skipcarlson, please give us ONE example of when the US, in it’s relations with China, has ever really “supported” human rights there. That’s right, you can’t.
The 1989 Tiananmen Square protests pretty much prove kamwick’s point. Bush Sr. Seems to have been preoccupied with planing the Panama invasion. Nixon “opened the door” to China and started “economic reform”. This pretty much proves capitalism does not necessarily lead to democracy.
