My 18 year old daughter wears mis-match socks all the time

solution: no socks…no laughing, no laundry

A [member of minority group] was wearing unmatched socks one day. When someone pointed it out, she/he said “I have two pairs of socks like this.”.

Mismatched socks are already a trend

I attended a fascinating talk once on the rings of Saturn. It turns out that they are not made of unmatched socks.

My husband just asked me to buy a big pack of the same socks so there is no problem with matching! And when one gets worn out, he can still use the other as a match!

Yes, this is a fad in some places. I saw a woman on QVC selling socks in sets of three (yes, three), and none of them were the same.
