Bug Blog by Cuco Rocha Protect Marriage Hey conservatives, want to protect the sanctity of marriage? Ban Kim Kardashian. On a personal note, I think my favorite Kardashian is Tito.
When I was a young teen I agreed with you fully. Then my mom told me about her aunt and uncle. When he was in WW2, at one point he thought he’d been shot, but wasn’t injured. He later noticed that the small metal cross on the bible he kept in his shirt pocket was bent. It had a bullet in the center. Twix and ‘tween he saw too much, and when he came back he pretty much ignored his wife and kids to take up drinking. They tried to get a divorce, but the judge told them to “work it out.” So one Friday he took his paycheck, paid all his bar tabs, and hung himself in the attic. When I was fresh out of college, my manager was running horribly late, she called several minutes after we should have opened to tell me she was in the hospital because her husband had pushed her down the stairs and she was finally leaving. It took over a year to get the divorce finalized, becuase DESPITE the fact that he ADMITED to the court that he hit her on several different occasions, he didn’t want to let her leave.
I’ve been married 10 years, my parents for 35 and and my grandparents for 52, I am a firm beliver in the power of marriage vows, but you know, it’s not the ending that’s too easy, it’s the starting.

The Kardashians are only the tip of the iceberg. You’d also have to ban Britney Spears, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich…

This was tried in the 1950’s and 60’s. It has some problems.
- Widows were lumped with single parents by choice, and they and their children were condemned (as the daughter of a widow I assure you of this).
- Abused spouses were forced to stay with their abusers.
- Creative divorces were always available to those with enough money (in New York beng a professional co-respondent was almost a cottage industry).
I could go on, of course. But couldn’t we all just get along, and maybe even help each other, not condemn each other, instead?
