Personally, I think of marriage as “two people who commit to living out their lives together”. If two people, no matter whether they’re homosexual or heterosexual, love each other, why should the government (or anyone else for that matter) bar them from enjoying the benefits of such a commitment?
If he really wanted to support same-sex marriage, the President should have announced that he opposed it. Then all the Republicans, baggers and RWNJs would have automatically opposed him and flip-flopped in its favor.
