    Who does?

Working for a certain amusement park I found a tray of burger buns that had expired. We and a female co worker took them at closing time and feed the carp and ducks that people feed all day long. We got threatened with being fired for not throwing them in the dumpster instead of just the plastic coating.

Another thing restaurants and grocery stores do is put bleach or formaldehyde or some other chemical to spoil the food before throwing it in the trash.I was told they’re afraid that someone might dig in their trash, eat something that started to spoil, get sick, and then they’d get away with suing the business for allowing them to eat bad food.A shame. But that’s the way it seems to be these days.

I know of grocery stores that will throw perfectly good buns, bread etc in the dumpster rather than let someone have them when they are past the sell by date. They are still good but no one is supposed to get them.

if people were asking for it he should give it to them but I wouldnt feed stray dogs. People coming into a restaurant really want to see stray dogs hanging around. If he knows who they belong to which he should then he should let them know they are running loose.

We are within easy driving range of several supermarkets. Only one will let us take two-day old bread to the local food pantry. All the others, including branches of the same chain, use those lying excuses. There are laws exempting them from any liability. We are a buffer between them and the food pantry and they are a buffer between us and the ultimate consumer. Fresh produce is not permitted to be given away, by these stupid laws. We started a community garden, but so far only middle class are using it – they know that class may not exist for long.

The War on Poverty very quickly transformed into a war on the poor. “Lord, when did we see you malnourished and poisoned and threw away your food?” Matthew 25 more or less.
