One a bite of my apple? Apples, yuck! Without apples and apple trees, there would be no applewood smoked bacon. I said a bite, not the whole thing. Munch Munch Munch
One of our little dogs loved green apples that fell off the trees. She loved to play fetch, but would wind up eating the apple. Oh my. That was well over 70 yrs. ago.
All of my dogs have loved fruits and veggies. Saucy would pick the tomatoes right off the vine and eat them. Moxie (the current) isn’t as fond of tomatoes, but does like apples and strawberries.

My first sheltie loved apples…and carrots…. and fish…and….The only thing he wouldn’t eat were cherry tomatoes.

I think that would be a waste of perfectly good bacon. The best bacon I’ve had is pepper bacon.
