I won’t be voting for Mitt, but if we were all held accountable in later life for our behavior in our pre-voting years, damn few of us would even be allowed out without a keeper.

There’s a Good Reason some kids have a leash, from first walking to first playground, and clipped to the clothesline other times…

I, too, will not be voting for Mitt, but I agree that all this “etch-a-sketch,” dog on top of car, and bullying stuff is pretty childish criticism

We all agree we did stupid pranks as a kid (raises hand sheepishly) - the difference being, mine (and most teen pranks) didn’t target weaker individuals simply because they were different-gay, minority, poor, smaller—they also weren’t wolf-packs beating up on an individual. So, yes; it was a long time ago, and no; I was not the same. And that’s why it shouldn’t be swept under the rug.

In American politics, you get what you pay for. While none of us can bury our childhood peccadilloes, a lot on money and spin doctors go a long way to paving them over.

Link this episode to putting the dog on the roof and you have a person who cannot get past his own skin in order to empathize with others so no surprise he is an elephant.

    I only hope that Li’l Mitt doesn’t continue as a recurring character…

The forced haircut incident happened to a kid in my highschool, too. New kid had long hair back in the ‘50s and some seniors decided to “teach” him. The new kid started swearing using words the nuns didn’t want to hear and they took care of him. But I think the principal took care of the seniors.

I’m surprised that Romney’s affair is causing so much controversy.

“When you’re old, if you’re not a conservative, you have no brain”

It’s not hard to tell, from posts on these forums, who is more intelligent.

“Anyone but BO in November! ANYONE”How about Gore? You did make a universal claim. That’s not intelligent.

If all our choices as teens were put on public display, most of us would be very embarrassed, but we can hardly all have been petty little thugs, as young Mitt appears to have been.

I do not believe in voting liberal or conservative. That seems like an excuse for failing to think at all. The two candidates being presented for the next US presidential election are both pretty inadequate, but of the two men, I’d pick BHA over MR. In short, I’ll take weakness over cruelty any day. Anyone who picks the latter deserves exactly what they end up with.

I was far from a perfect kid, but even as a 6 year old I knew that bullying anyone for any reason was wrong. Bullies of any age are loathesome.
