When it happened to me, two younger supervisors were the hit squad. They thought I would be upset. I was, but, I just smiled and suggested they look out for themselves, since they weren’t getting any younger either. What goes around, comes around.It’s about big corporations laying off older workers.Thanks to the Bush Supreme Court, corporations are now considered people, and they own the politicians.What is ANY president going to do about it?

Working for an IT company in 2003 when my division was eliminated. Ended up working as an assistant manager in drug store- 6 days/60+ hours a week- had to pay the rent, for less money. Eventually got another position with a software 2 years later.

@GatoCatI’m 59 and tried to get a job at Lowes. The manager, who probably just stated wearing Pull-UPs told me I was, “Overqualified for a position watering plants in the garden department”. How can a biologist be too over qualified to water plants?

Blame all the free trade deals that create more jobs for foreigners than they give us in return. My buds died in Nam and soon they will be one of those benefactors. Can’t stop a Make-A-Buck cheaply corpocracy. Both Parties are to blame.
