What makes everything harder is that most people DON’T pay on their student loans, and they go into default. The Feds pay off the losing banks, and the hard-working people who DO pay their bills get saddled with deadbeats’ deficit. Ain’t America Great? Bankruptcies all around!

Sounds like socialized education to me. Might as well put the government aid into making tuition cheaper and eliminate some of the defaults before they happen.
