Considering how much of it the government’s been pinting the last few years, you’d think people would use cash for a measly $20 co-pay.

Either you’ve never had health insurance, or (like me) Medicare covers your co-payment. Anyway, a co-payment, or co-pay, is a nominal up-front fee for medical services, with the rest covered by insurance. (And it really is nominal. $20 is probably less than a tenth of what the whole visit would cost you otherwise…and that doesn’t include lab tests, meds, etc.)

I won’t even send the grandkids checks. They don’t know what to do with them, wait FOREVER to cash them, or lose them in the wash. I either send a gift card if I know what store they like, or I send cash. If it gets lost, that’s their problem. But I’m tired of trying to please them with sending a check.

I very rarely ever write checks anymore. My money is direct deposited into my account, I pay bills with Bill Pay and I only use credit cards as I don’t want to have to keep up with all those debit card receipts to make sure I don’t spend more money than I have in my bank account . . . besides, if your c.c. gets lost or stolen, you’ve got laws to help protect you against fraudulent use. If your d.c. gets lost or stolen, there aren’t any laws to help you — your money is just gone.
