I can’t remember if it was The Hunt For Red October or Apollo 13 that was the last movie I saw in the theatre. Either way, it’s been a very long time for me.
Yeah, I prefer the fast moving 80 minute movies, but I I can sit through anything that isn’t just being long-winded with a lot of filler. I do love being able to pause the movie to take a powder or what-ever. And I also like not having to freeze my behind off at the theatre too.
I’ll have a Blues Brothers’ Special and DWFNC, thanks Grog.
Thunderdog – That’s what I was thinking!
I have not gone to a movie theater for a long time and before that very few times. One nice thing about that is that when it shows on TV or you get it later on DVD (or VHS a long time ago) it’s like it just came out to you. Yesterday I ordered my first Blue-Ray movie from e-bay for a show I really like.
Good morning everyone. Hubby and I did go to movies while dating then a few after marriage, than we stopped. He was working so much overtime and was too tired. Another factor we did not like what was being shown.I agree about the theaher being too cold and too expensive. I do not like the costly popcorn. We have locally movie machine and Palace have movies at a lower cost but still we do not go.Taking a break with the movie going does not help.Daughter rents from Netflex despite what the company did on raising the price.I rather read a book or go walking if I see a neighbor someone I do not mind visting with I will.
Looks like my summer class will not be too hard, therefore, more freetime.
I finally got a hold of someone named Kathrine for me an Angel at DSL/At&T to chat with on my issues who knew what they were doing. I now have a new username/password, I promise whole hearted never to change again. Our other lap top is finally finished after we found out AT&T will do a diagnois for virus scan. We pay an extra fee for this protection. We were not happy about the extra fee, but at lest AT&T/DSL will talk with us.We are picking up newer lap top than I have to go to B&N only one left here locally. I need to learn QB better.
Alain, I don’t know if you saw my comment over @ 2C&C,but I can’t stand the superzero thing. Never bought a Marvel comic book. That said, I won’t be seeing that movie in the theatre or anywhere else.
I can’t get enough of the 60’s (or 70’s) version of The Avengers though, with Patrick MacNee. In time I hope to have the entire collection. I love watching them on a Friday night – as I did when I was but a wee lad.
We haven’t been to a movie since Star Wars, Episode 1 (the pre-quill). They crank the sound up sooooo loud for the special effects that it kills me. And, never fails, we used to sit to the “talkers” who knew everything. And, the sticky floors, and the big headed person in front……..need I go on???
We set up our own theater at home, with really good surround sound speakers and a wide screen, and recliners and all. Sure beats going out! Pop corn anyone?
Hi Montana Lady. That was certainly one of the last movies I saw as well.
I may not have surround sound, but I do have my DVD player connected to my stereo system with 4 Bose 301 speakers placed in an almost semi-circle around my family room. It sounds good enough for my liking – and I can play it as loud or quietly as I want. It’s great for playing a movie like The Blues Brothers with all that great music.
Well I just recently started to read the Peanuts 1963-64 collection. It’s interesting to go back to the beginning & see how the characters develop and transform over time.

By the end of the year, I should have over 500 movies on DVD or VHS. I have 165 seasons of various TV shows on DVD.
