Little does Doubleup know, he and “TREERAT” have more in common than just an internet relationship and love of comics. Blaze looks “cautiously” amused…
Oh, man! DoubleUp and Treerat are going to geek out on The Scarlet Sting! Poor Blaze may never recover from the repeated jolts to her nervous system from this night’s weirdness! But I have a feeling that Ray may be right: somehow, the wheels are going to come off this roller coaster….
You’re in the same room as Blaze Rise and you’re going to get absorbed in comic books? My suspension of disbelief is strained to the point it needs a truss.
well if blaze doesnt protect davey, at least double up will. #19 today… btw did anyone else notice if my comments yesterday were “jumbled”? i went back to re-read them a while after and it seems they posted on one big line
Any chance Blaze will take over the syndicate? I can’t see Davey Mylar staying on as a DT villain, but Blaze has a James-Cagney vibe to her. If Mylar recruited DoubleUp because they like the same comic book hero, she may be wondering about the insanity of this situation.
To continue the “nerd” discussion from yesterday—if you feel offended by the word “nerd”, then that most likely means that you are one. Don’t be mad or offended—embrace it. You’re a nerd. It’s okay. We’re all adults here (mostly)—this isn’t high school anymore.
What if Blaze and Davey became lovers? That’s what I am hoping for. When I was young we had a gangster named Keith L. from NCWV; while he was tough and not so cute (so to speak) He had a few women at different times that were just plain HOT. The question always came up, what does she see in him? The answer was always the same; money, toys and power. Keith did die of an OD in his 50’s.
Blaze looks like she knows trouble’s coming. She and Panda have already had doubts about the new Mr. Crime. If she were to tell Panda about Davey (and getting rid of him), Doubleup might back Davey. And the bullets will fly!(Kudos to Mike – having naive Davey as Mr. Crime makes for soooo many possible plot twists! Great idea!)
Just occurred to me: Davey and his mom were in a financial situation just like Peter Parker and Aunt May when Uncle Ben was murdered.Davey, didin’t you ever read Spider-Man?(Besides, under the law, anything he’s bought using money from criminal acts – including his house – can be seized.)
does blaze have davey’s back or does she have her own agenda? “The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a JaguarMoney’s the matterIf you’re in it for love, you ain’t gonna get too far (Oh-oh, here she comes) Watch out boy she’ll chew you up (Oh-oh, here she comes) She’s a maneater”
gee, it looks like Davey’s arrived just in time to be busted with the rest of the gang – minus whoever the vine eats in the meantime, of course. How do the rest of you feel Panda’s going to re-act if the plot has him finding out beforehand who “Mr. Crime” is, too? I mean, he’s had to be thinking some tough-looking, criminally experienced Al Capone type, right? I’d say him or Davey becomes the next" Miracle-Gro" in that case…
Am I correct in thinking that “Treerat” was the user name that Davey was using when on line chatting about Scarlet Sting? That would explain how come Double-up became instantly friendly, when Davey identified himself. It would be like if a fellow walked in to a Go Comics fan meeting and said, “Hello. I’m VistaBill” – not that VistaBill is Mr. Crime, or anything.BTW – Many of Gould’s famous villians had side hobbies not directy related to their criminal activity. Shaky built ships in bottles; Spot’s pal Ogden wrote silly poems; Tonsils wanted to be a singer; even Crewy Lou had a legit business as a baby photogapher, although she found a way to use it for a crime.

What’s with the screen Doubleup’s looking at in panel 1? Is this a possible second cam into MCU? There seems to be a cop on screen.

Wow, this story keeps getting crazier. I wonder if Davey will become the gang’s mascot — while secretly running it? So many things could happen!

I’d like to see Blaze get a promotion. She’s tough as last night’s chili.

It’s interesting to see some “humanization” of the criminals in this strip…they seem less "one-sided’ this way.
