Janis: Look at the tiny stove!
Janis: And the little refrigerator!
Janis: And the cabinets are precious!
Janis: Oh, Arlo! I didn't expect it to be so CUTE!!
The parts of a boat are designed to be no bigger than they have to be. One exception would be the anchor (1/3 to 1/2 larger than recomended is a good idea). Those of you who were wondering about the steering wheel location in the last panel on June 7, this was common on boats forty or more years ago. You could sit on the curved box over the gear assembly and as the boat heeled over, you could slide along the curve to stay upright. Check out this link to see a boat currently for sale like the one in the comic (http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1964/Gaff-Rigged-Topsail-Schooner—1409548/Newport/RI/United-States). Schooners like this were usually made of wood or steel and they require a lot more maintenance than modern fiberglass boats.
I thought everything was "cute " and “neat” they first day in an RV, but the same 4 Sq. ft. table doubling as desk, climbing into bed with little room around it, etc. got old pretty quickly.
(Cont. from above) effectively sealing her off for the night. I never told her that she was sleeping on top of the head (might have lacked esthetic appeal). There was a community head, available via a nice hike through the woods.

Wait until she tries to use the head. As the girl said, there’s a learning curve.

It’s cute as long as you don’t have to use it. Trust me. Especially when your darling husband invited 10 people to share a small cruise.

The strip shows A&J, down below in the cabin, standing up, with lots of distance between them. That isn’t how it is. Everything is squeezed together.

I love Janis’s positive attitude. Let’s see how she feels in the morning after the boat rocking all night.

I’m betting the cute factor will wear out soon.
