Being a ketchup monitor is starting to sound pretty good.

They must be playing Spud. Not sure I understand most of the rules of that game either, other than “avoid the ball.”

Practical, Petey, practical! At his age, I was totally just as incompetent at sports as Petey is; and it was painful having to participate in team sports, until I became at least marginally more proficient and began to understand some of the concepts….

I don’t understand how Thompson sees my past so clearly.I’m about 50% Petey, about 30% Dill, and God help us all, about 20% Kevin. (Remember when Kevin tried to practice clapping but kept missing?)

I heard a lot of “Do we have to have him on our team?” when I was a kid. I would have rather been on no team

Ahh, adult speech in comics has come a long way since the days of Peanuts and “Wah wah, wahwahwah, wah.”

Great legs.

Not only is this how sports seem to me, but I have the same reaction to math. “It’s so simple – bloopity, blah, blah, mumble. See?”
ronpolimeni over 12 years ago
I’m with you Dani Rice, never passed a math course in my life and to this day have no affinity for ball sports whatsoever. Still, as an adult I taught myself to draw plans to scale, work with fractions and drive race cars in pro events.

Petey’s instincts will serve him well should a random game of dodge ball break out.
