Kadaver is quirky, but fun (he’s sort of an anti-Batman, it seems, with a “utility belt”-full of gadgets and weapons). The sword-cane is a perfect weapon for this big, ugly freakazoid, but as has already been noted by Ray it may be a choice he will live (or not) to regret!
SO MANY POSSIBILITIES here! Wow! Kadaver could be hit by friendly fire or taken out by Tracy. Either way, he’ll go down swinging, you can bet on that. This is just fantastic action.
I think Abner’s statement about not being able to see in the smoke is definitely a precursor for someone being stabbed to death. I’m thinking Teevo, the rat who’s dumb enough to go running to a raid in progress.
Just getting around to catching up on the weekend and Monday DT…WOW! I can’t really add to the comments on that Sunday strip…just amazing.
I’m not too far north in MD from where I imagine VB may be. Our neighborhood loses power if a cat sneezes so when I made it through the storms Friday night and still had power on Saturday I figured it was all sound and no fury.
Then I went outside. Holy cow. Too many trees and power lines down to imagine and the results are surreal. Lines at the gas stations that have power, whatever food stores that are operating selling out of what is still usable, ice and water rare commodities, miles of major intersections with no traffic control, homes and property suffering major damage and sadly, reports of loss of lives.
And yet, compared to those facing the devastation of wild fires, we are very lucky.
So KADAVER is a cross between Karloff and Mysterio? We are friends with Sara Karloff, so I am complimented. I hadn’t thought of Mysterio but that wonderful Ditko smoke which we’ll see a lot of this week.
On the downside, the colorist is once again overwhelmed.GoComics, please hire another colorist to help out the current one – they obviously can’t keep the quality up with the quantity.
…..I’m trying to imagine kadaver in prison, without his costume he’d sure lose his luster, wouldn’t he? This story just keeps getting bigger and better, like a snowball rolling downhill!

Kadaver doesn’t need a gun! But I have a feeling that the “I won’t be able to see you” line is setting up something in the next few strips.
Make it through your Monday folks. It’ll be a great week.

Armies still issue bayonets because even today it sometimes gets down to hand-to-hand combat.

As smoke billows about the room
Evil moves in the deepening gloom
He goes forward with increasing glee
To deal destruction with his Snickersnee
A silent weapon, this blade of steel
Its cold caress, someone soon shall feel
With no more noise than a babies breath
It sings the song of pain and death
A lightning thrust, a backhand slash
Blood wells from a terrible gash
His victims won’t even know he’s near
Till their throats are cut from ear to ear
Over his hand their life’s blood does spill
To him it gives a perverse thrill
O’er the bodies he does step
More to become victims yet
How many will pay the price
For his urge to slice and dice?
To think the strip was once maligned
How lofty now it has climbed
Mike and Joe can’t be beat
Every day, a new treat.
Thanks all, for the kind comments the other day.
