However, as Rex has so aptly noticed, the currently pulley arrangement means one of them will have to run backward. Rex is not keen on whom it will be.

Another one of Bob’s bright ideas for exercise without exercising. This can come to no good for either Bob or Rex.

Bob is always working on “inventing the better mousetrap”, which incidently, he has done. He remembers the article he read when he was little, and thinks, “I can make it even better!”

Shortly after he pulls the starter cord, he will discover that it’s rigged so that the motor drives it in reverse. He will wake up underneath a wagon underneath a dog.

right now, I’m on the “main” pc in the house, since my laptop crashed 20 min. ago, while I was on Bing. i HATE this keyboard (among other things this a.m., like the internet, computers, and modern technology in general!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I have a feeling that whatever happened came from a picture at Bing. is that possible? Macafee said it detected and removed a trojan, and when i clicked on “more info”, the trojan was some sort of fake trojan alert. I can barely even wrap my head around that! lost my desktop and start menu, was able to shut it down ‘properly’, rebooted, but 95% of desktop is missing, and I’m nauseous……i had about 10-12 error messages (the triangle with the exclamation point) and a "trial " scan program that started automatically, which I promptly x’d out . but, i’m afraid all is lost, all is lost, all is lost………..I probably won’t be here much the next couple days, but i’ll check in at least am and pm.

Rusty Boy has good reason to fret and he knows it. Vex with a capital “V” and trouble on the way. Once Collin said, “all you gota do”, Rusty Boy knew he was in deep dodo…..The next thing we all expect to hear is, “there, there, help is on the way”; life on Ballard Street can be very predictable at times.

The Following is a Paid for Polidikal Anounsemint by “Frends of the Munkey” and “Munkey Polidicle Akshun Comidy”

As law abiding citizens we jest cant endorse this tipe of dangerus aktivity… “Perfesser Portnoy’s Portable Petro Powered Puppy Platform” (PePoPoPePoPuPla) is not only un-approved by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, it cain’t be licensed for motorized conveyunce without the rekwizit safety harness/restaints and airbag, side markers/reflectors, parking brake, 5 mph bumpers, horn, emishuns controlz… oh, and a bunch of other stuff… The Munkey’s platform is “Steadfast and Firm” against this type of shenanigans in the Ballard Street neighborhood and if elected, will inshur Ol’ Lady Meaderbaum’s hedgerow (and Rusty Boy) will remain unmolested until after the 4th of July activitees… VOTE MB!!!!

Please let Arthur know that I posted 4 residential properties that just came on the market on 6/15. Although zoned residential, a zoning variance most likely could be obtained (depending on the level of sound-proofing that you would have to do, especially with frequent cowbell playing going on). Let me know if you’d prefer a more commercial location.

And, may I add, “Welcome to Ballard St.!”

StelBel!! — OMG I’m so sorry…. I know how I felt when my last computer crashed….and then I accidentally killed the little netbook I was using for a while instead…Some people who don’t hang out on the internet really don’t get it…but your forum friends know how devastating it can seem.Luckily, it sounds like you have some options…You said McAfee popped up an alert….…that’s one problem with using Norton or McAfee as your antivirus software. It’s not that they don’t do a good job, but they’re often spoofed.I got a similar notice “from McAfee” the other night….looked like their logo, too…but I knew it wasn’t real because I don’t have McAfee installed on my computer!I copied the link to that picture you posted (which is wonderfully apt, BTW) and I see it comes straight from what I would think was a quite trustworthy website.Hard to think they’d post anything harmful.

Spoof warnings and malware attacks can come up any time you’re on the web…. especially without good pop-up blockers, which usually means updated browsers…. I hope you don’t mean MSN Explorer is no longer providing updated versions. That isn’t safe.I’m sure you know not to skip AV software updates, either. If you don’t let it download new virus “definitions,” it’s only protecting you from old viruses — more are invented every day. So far…. (knock wood) I’ve had good luck with the free antivirus software from MIcrosoft (of all people!)It’s called “Security Essentials.” I used to use several other free ones but this seems better….never slows down my computer (AFAIK) and keeps itself updated automatically.

Oh…. and it was a serious question the other day about YouTube, even though some people (won’t name names but one person’s MIGHT rhyme with Mex teck) mocked me….I always update my browser software when prompted….cos a lot of updates have to do with security flaws.I know those of you who use older browsers like IE 7 can still see YouTube just fine…my question was addressed to anyone who updated both FireFox and Flash (which runs videos) when prompted last week….because I did both, and YouTube stopped working.I’ve visited several forums where people have suggested one or the other has implemented new “protective” software to prevent malware attacks from videos…but it goes too far. Some have suggested changing a setting I can’t find, or one I tried and it didn’t help.YouTube will show only a blank black screen. Can anybody help???I’ll gladly pay in turkey sandwiches, haircuts, manicures, foot massages….whatever I can.

Redkaycei – I can verify that MonkeyBlues (our Future Sheriff!) was named “Ballard Street Cowbell Hero” at the Ballard Street Memorial Day Parade. This special award was created and presented by Mrs. Beviek…

And I myself had the honor of being asked to compose a song just for the occasion, which I have now almost finished re-constructing as a campaign song for our future Sheriff.

Which reminds me…. Monkey, I have some appointments available most days this week except for Wednesday or Friday…. including this evening, if you would care to drop by around 7:30 or 8.Love to see those Monkey toes…. if your feet aren’t still too sun-burnt.Let me know by 6 or so, if you want to ensure that I have time to make banana muffins….and perhaps some banana daquiris?

If you need temporary digs, you can use my galleon. It’s anchored in the bay and although sound carries over water, i think it might work – at least for the time being. I , too, am looking for a house in town. The ladies were looking for me. Perhaps, if i find a large enough home, you could use some of the space.I’m sure you’d like Zeke, my zydeco loving zebra and my parrot Capt. Pierre le Nez aka Pete the Beak.

X - you must have posted those comments while I was typing and somehow they didn’t show up for me till I came back here again….sorry.You know I was joking about the mocking…. it was just a little payback for telling me to get an antique browser from StelBel’s store.I really do appreciate all the help ….I’m a self-taught seat-of-the-pants computer flyer, and while I’m always willing to share what I’ve learned and figured out, I know you know a lot more about it.Meanwhile…. yeah, believing it to be a FireFox problem I did try IE and Chrome but still no YouTube.I had also tried what you suggested…. but it’s weird…when you open RealPlayer preferences, you’re supposed to uncheck “Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers”…. but FireFox isn’t on the list….even though Adobe says it’s a Firefox security update problem. Another suggestion is to disable hardware acceleration in Flash….but I couldn’t find where one does that. What I did end up doing is uninstalling this latest Flash update and reinstalling the last one….a temporary solution at best, but it was actually suggested on the adobe website as a last resort.I do need to keep looking for a solution.Thank you!
