Linguist said, less than a minute agoWho said butterflies are free ? She’d better get to StelBel’s shop for a really good camouflage suit. I believe, StelBel’s running a special on papillon paraphernalia.
Morning Bev!Glad you got back safe and sound…. been missing you around here.I’m kinda falling asleep in my chair….. I do work on Wednesday nights, as you know….so it was hard getting up for the early bus to Ballard St.I did bring a big bag of produce with me from the farmer’s market… tomatoes, yellow squash, onions, fresh basil….I’ll cook something nice after my nap…. drop by the salon for some pasta salad later? I’ll touch up your cut at the same time if you like. But meanwhile…. don’t be upset…it wasn’t quite what you think. The Monkey wasn’t that drunk….as far as I know….I mean….. yeah, I did fall asleep…. sorry …..But he was very confused by falling asleep in the laundry basket….Just very sweetly ran off in a hurry, trying to save any bits still remaining of my “honor….”which kinda back-fired due to clingy bits of laundry….but how do you know it was my….ear-warmers?I thought it was socks…Oh dear….
No worries, IMudd ! I’m back on the laptop, which was released by the hospital yesterday! YAY! Again, I want to thank you for all the real helpful information you passed along! So, here’s our plan: 1. Get the laptop fixed (did that.)2. Be on the lookout (BOLO) for a good deal on a desktop PC with a large monitor, which will replace the laptop for daily use.3. Laptop will still be available for when I’m “on the move” (!)(You seem quite “on the mend” to me. Hang in there!)
Well! It’s obvious to me that Stephanie did not listen to me, and went down to that discount store over on Ballard St. Ext.Their costumes never fit well (you were right, Mrs. Bev…those wings are going to cause no end of pain and discomfort! Welcome back! We missed you terribly! ) We, at the costume annex of WWOI, carry almost all varieties of costumes of butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, ants. bees, spiders etc. PLUS expert fussy fitters. “We fuss so you won’t have to.” Take a look! This is what we could have provided for Stephanie and her dogs, PugFly, Peony and Daisy:
Correction:Stephanie just texted me, but I don’t speak TEXT fluently, so she called me on the LAN line, to inform me that I misidentified one of her Pugs. The above photo shows Peony AND little Black-Eyed Susan.
I could try that, but in my experience entomological subjects are either totally oblivious to people or are spooked by anything big that moves. Maybe Stephanie can teach me her secrets. She’s at least got it worked out how not to have half her hair blue.I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this in some forum or the other here, but I particularly like this shot I took with three of the four stages of a monarch butterfly’s life in the picture:The adult butterfly is obvious. There’s a white egg on one of the flower buds in the lower center of the picture and there’s a tiny caterpillar under a leaf on the right. The little photo here links to a full HD width shot where the egg and caterpillar are much easier to see.
RedKaycei…. Franklin? Freddy?… no… I…um….well….. I’m quite sure I don’t remember.That’s my story and I’m not budging.I mean…. after all….there’s a lot about the “old days” I can’t quite recall.Besides…. twins I would remember….Oh…. You didn’t say they were twins?Um…. well, if they were twins… I …um…never heard of them….
Very good, very good! That is a wise decision, especially since my intuition says that Smit …the owner will eventually decide to sell, when he is more comfortable with the idea, and, really, where are you going to find a more reasonable (if not inventive) rent???BTW, here’s a photo of the recording studio. I’m told it’s “state-of-the-art”. I hope it meets your requirements…
Looky here MonkeyBlues, you all get yar ███████ out of that there dump. We needs a Sheriff round har and for my money You’re it. Do ya think I went to all the trouble of getting time on that there Super Collider at CERN just so I could gits a nice snappy of the MonkeyBlues Particle while you live under a dang bridge. No siree Bob. Now you all listen to Susan an’ get your tail a moven’ (She’s got cookies)I’ll get with Linguist en see if maybe we can smuggle some Rum cake in to ya.
I just heard bach ….back from Smit …the owner, and you’re “good-to-go”. Move in anytime. I left the keys with Bill Hopper, the head bellhop at SCHAABS.
If you need anything…anything at all…Bill is you “go-to” guy.
“BTW, I’m going to be working at the polls on Tues. and I think Suzi is as well. But I don’t know if you can what with the closings and all. We really do need plenty of people from our …….uh……..‘side’ cause those rascals on the other side are really ….uh…..rascally and I don’t trust them any further than I could throw Scooter!”+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I just left a message for Linguist . As soon as I hear back from him, I can let you know when I’ll be available on Tuesday.
We just got that dragonfly costume in yesterday! Isn’t it divine? Of course, the make-up is an important part of the whole effect. Anyway, I’m going over to WWOI Costume Annex right now, since it’s my night to close up. I’ll put that outfit aside with your name on it. Be sure to stop in the Monday before Whimsical Wednesday, so that the Fussy Fitters can fuss over you and make certain that it fits properly. We don’t want any ill-fitting straps!I will catch up with you tomorrow, I’m sure. I’m really glad you’re back!
i gave up trying to coment on this comic looong ago. NO way i can keep up with all the (padded) brain cells working this strip. but i still read it. you guys are a gas…
All that matters is that Stephanie believes it’s her secret. The fact that the insects like her because she smells like wildflowers need not be mentioned in her presence.

Monkey… I know what it is….low blood sugar!
I’m just back from Beviek’s, with a plate of cookies, and I have some of my lovely tomato eggplant medley left at home…. well, at the salon.
Get your tail over here for a turkey sandwich and some vegetables and cookies….and a cup of tea….you’ll soon be feeling like your old monkey self.
