Hmmm It seams that someone disproved that the earth is NOT the center of the solar system or the Universe for that matter. Even if some people think that they are.

Ah, summer, the Persieds, Coeur d’Alene Idaho, with a close friend. But, central Washington works, and in the winter you get the Aurora Borealis.

Scaaty/MagicFan: Most meteors are fragments left in solar orbit by comets. Meteor showers are from the earth passing though these orbits, which is why they can be predicted so accurately. The exceptions are mostly lunar and even martian, impacts in which fragments are thrown out with such force that they are sent into space, where they will occasionally hit something else. Some have landed on earth. Of course, there was the famous comet that hit Jupiter a few years ago, but that is extremely rare for entire comets.

Awww Furienna that is so sad. I can’t imagine what those light/dark cycles do to a person. That definitely puts my tree and light pollution issues in perspective.

We recently took a trip out to west Texas from the Houston area and my wife thought the milky way was a cloud… It was BEAUTIFUL.
