Ok Rick, now you’ve stepped into a steamin’ pile. Don’t mess with the place that produced the car where you were conceived.

Frank’s right. I never answer my phone unless the caller ID identifies a specific person or organization (and sometimes not even then if I don’t know the person or company.) Never answer when all they show is a location, “private caller,” just a phone number and certainly not “caller ID blocked.” Nothing good ever comes from answering those kind of calls!

As Detroit went to Japan, America goes to China.

How can that city support 3 major league sports franchises?

Detroit? It could be good ol’ reliable Nathan, proprietor of the oldest established, permanent, floating crap game in New York!

I’m from Detroit. Far from it, and glad of it! It supports 4 major sports teams because the population of the city moved out of the city and into the suburbs. City limits when I was a kid were at 8 Mile Rd on the East side. There were farms at 14 Mile Rd. Now, I have friends who live as far out as 26 Mile Rd. Also, the latest I have read, Detroit has a population of about 900,000, more than enough to support the teams that call the place home.

Detroit is like East and West Dakotas: more people are from there than now live there. . . .
