Golf is the least exciting season in the Milford calender.The calender is what makes this comic unique, as we change from sport to sport.The odd thing is that actual sport is what the comic does so badly. It’s the dramas that go on off the sporting arena that keep it going.I love this comic and I: despise sport, can’t stand teenagers and am not American.

Was an explanation ever given as to why they took the Thorp kids out of the strip, oh and the dog and cat too.

I’m not a farmer, but where exactly did Gil grow up if he baled hay all summer? Here in Iowa that is pretty much a late summer, early fall activity (and it doesn’t take all summer).

@gilfan79 – Gil made that “raised on a farm” story up – just like the stories about his football prowess ar State U and his service with the Green Berets in Vietnam.

Gil is a bull $&%# artist from the word go. Even the MILFord CC head pro can see through that. This is what, his 3rd summer running the jr. golf program and he has told that same story yet again?

So is this going to be a milestone gay couple storyline in Gil Thorp? Well, we did already have Lini, but that was assumed, never outright stated.

Kid in panel 3 looks a little like Brody Abro to me, if I’m remembering the name right — the aspergers field goal kicker from last fall. @Gilfan — In Missouri, baling hay seems to go on all summer. I used to help do it at a farm owned by a friend’s dad. As soon as the grass was tall enough they’d cut it and bale it, then let it grow and do it again.

Must be the supply closet.

Gil’s family moved from Pixley to Hooterville when he was 12.
