Two new auctions this week at the Endtown Auction Block... a color drawing of Holly and Wally and the original drawing for last week’s big single panel installment.. Huge thanks to all who participate.. As always, all proceeds help keep Endtown alive!
Update on the Endtown books!Jarlidium has announced that we can now buy the books through Amazon! While Amazon still states that the books are temporarily out of stock, this is a problem with they way they calculate demand. The books are available, and you’ll get them shortly after placing the order.
As Professor Mallard was the one who pressed the panic button, he’ll be desperate to find out the truth – the REAL truth – of what happened. I’m sure, though, he already knows a lot of the details. He is in communication with the other colonies, and and they all sent out their finest and best teams to destroy the rocket on the launch pad. We know now the rocket was a honey trap, to lure the operatives exactly as it did, and aside from the fact the Topsiders actually did launch a rocket (not the decoy), they also succeeded in culling a large number of skilled mutant operatives. Now, following the time-line, I imagine all of the colonies would be at least a two-day walk to and from the objective. Perhaps the colonies would still yet be expecting them back and hadn’t missed them. Or it’s possible that even just one scout party or a device like a dustcrawler has seen that the whole thing had turned into a massacre, in which case the news of the whole catastrophe would be relayed from one colony to the next. No-one, though, would be able to even guess about Flask’s solo operation, her betrayal of the mission, our gang’s unlikely survival, their outlandish adventures or Flask’s and Wally’s fight to the death.Mallard has a lot he needs to catch up on. He needs it fast, and he needs it truthfully. (Compare with the reception for Al and Gustine, last time.)Finally, I am sure we haven’t seen the last of Flask. If she is still alive, will she be picked up by a Topsider crew? Will she be taken into the city, and if so, do they know their peril? Aaron Marx, who seems to know everything, would have accounted for what was going to happen and the implications. And yet he acted as if she no longer existed. I can’t believe he just assumed she is dead – I mean I wouldn’t. So what’s he playing at?

The question that needs asking is “Who’s in charge?” Last time around (with A&G) it was Flask driving the show, with Mallard intervening as an equal. This arc started with Flask in an apparently (slightly) subservient role to Mallard. She was still head of security, but there was never any indication of a second in command. The rats are all drones, there has to be someone overseeing the operation. The whole town has to be buzzing about their appearance, and Petey’s still on the loose. There’s no need for any anonymous leaks this time. Mallard should be getting involved any minute, though Wally’s actions to save the outpost should place him directly at odds with our old friend Jake and his ilk. Talk about out of the frying pan….;-)
We’ve seen at least one child (on the swings when Wally escaped the hospital), but no infants. But just because we haven’t seen one doesn’t mean they aren’t there.
Aye, lad, I be more than willin’ to help ye, if ye had both oars in the water ’ere ye asked. As it be, I believe thou art adrift.
“We’ve seen at least one child (on the swings when Wally escaped the hospital), but no infants.”We’ve seen lots of kids. There’s just been no discussion within the strip regarding the answers we want. And we want answers!———————————-Matt, you’re a dead man!
I hope they are let go soon. Holly sure knows how to be fetching and cute in any situation! She must be a libra, she is so level-headed. There are 1 or 2 pages from the books that I love more than others. it could be fun to name favorite parts.
“Per Cooper’s Law (August 10, 2011), all infants that are born are born anthros. Which implies that children have been born, and plenty of them.”The issue is if babies have been born from parents that have already been mutated prior to having sex. What we know from Cooper’s Rule apparently comes from mothers that were pregnant prior to The End, or from pregnant Topsiders that got exposed to the mutagen somehow. What we don’t know is if two mutants of different species can have conception.—————————Cats and dogs, living together!
