Oh, but science DOES do that, unfortunately. Case in point, the word dinosaur, means lizard-tooth. Up until recently, anyone in the science community who tried to separate dinosaurs from the reptile family was “back listed”. The evidence that they were more closely related to birds has been round a LONG time, but it was censored because it was not popular.
Actually, what came to be known as plate tectonics was in substance the explanation Wegener offered. But he had been trained as a meteorologist, not a geologist, and scientists are as fiercely territorial as any other humans. Wegener was not seen as a ‘peer’ deserving the trouble of reviewing, so instead of trying to find evidence one way or the other they took the easy way out and vilified him as an amateur poking around in what was none of his business.

If it’s any consolation, from the context of the rest of the songs it appears that the “moves” Adam Levine is singing about are mostly horizontal …
… yeah, that’s no consolation at all. Sorry about that mental picture.

I bet I would like “Whines like Meyer” better than “Moves like Jagger.”

Don’t know this song of which he speaks. Don’t want to know.
Typical Basic Instructions theme. Love this strip.

Have you ever known a truth that wasn’t unpopular? At least with somebody?
