Chill out Opal!

Yes Ma’am, we’re having fun… May I go now?

Oh, that’s right – never mind, we’re married… About sums that situation up.

But she still won’t help the lad kill weeds with firecrackers, will she?

I’m in no hurry to get married.

Opal is as fun as hugging a porcupine with bare hands.

What about that coaster again?

I’m just coasting along without an Opal in my life.

She wants the praising without the playing.

Now hey all. Not all wife’s are like that. Hubby and I have been married 31 years and I do not act that way. Why should the wife have to do all the work? We have our fun times. My hubby stays home not doing much, retired, me trying to get work, on-line studies and I go outside and walk. Our children are unemployed adults. No grandkids except for two dogs who act like children and a independent cat.

So why doesn’t he use a coaster? Get him a coaster, Opal.

When I grow up I’m going to be on my death bed.

I feel the same, too busy being the mature adult to have any fun. If I do have time to just have fun, would I be any fun?

MEIN GOTT ! Opal today reminds me of my late mother-in-law, and she’s just gotta back off !

Once the kids have left the nest, the maternal instinct to improve and correct becomes focused on guess who ?I’ve known many women " of a certain age" treat their spouses like they were 10 year olds. And hubby starts to act that way.

My thoughts throughout this arc has been, someone has to be the adult and do the work. Another thought – people are different and enjoy different things. Opal enjoyes sewing and crafts. That’s fun for her, not for a little boy.
